Self Care Spotlight
Season 6: Poetic Healing
a podcast with Alyssa Kuzins

On July 7 at 4:30am, my husband Brad was in a cycling accident. He survived but with a traumatic brain injury. Since 2017 I’ve been dedicated to real talk self care, and this season, we’re focusing on one healing modality, writing, specifically, poetry. Welcome to the Poetic Healing, season 6 series. I’m currently writing my first poetry memoir on this journey, but in the meantime, I want to highlight the poets and poetess out there who are sharing the messy human experience through the art and catharsis of beautiful words. Because the world needs healing and hope and human relating, more than ever. Every week, you’ll hear a different conversation with one of today’s well-known poetry authors on poems to heal racial injustice, sexual empowerment, to using your voice, love and more. As a bonus, they’ll share some pieces with spoken word!! I am not here to be a poet. I am here to feel my feelings, and thus maybe help you, feel yours

self care spotlight - season 6

Alyssa and I first connected in December 2019! She reached out for support with Self Care Spotlight, as it had gotten to the point where she felt the joy of the process had been draining from her. I was excited to be able to support her and help bring back the JOY! I started support for her with Season 5 episodes which ran monthly from January through May 2020.

In July of the same year, her husband Brad was in a cycling accident. He survived, but with a traumatic brain injury. I was honored with Alyssa reached out for support with Season 6 of Self Care Spotlight: Poetic Healing, where I was able to help once again to allow her to enjoy the process of interviews with guests and sharing their conversations, instead of having to worry about the behind the scenes processes.

Podcast Management tasks include:

Alyssa’s message of real talk self care is one everyone can benefit from. Season 6 specifically touches on my heart strings through the art of poetry and how it can create healing and a sense of hope and element of connection between humans in a way nothing else can. I highly recommend you give this season (and the others!) a listen, and begin to implement true self care into your life each and every day.

“Working with Jordan on my podcast audio edits and graphics creation was hands down one of the best decisions I ever made! It allowed me to free up my time, joy and creativity to focus on what my zone of genius was. She was always open to my feedback and turn around time was quick. I felt so well cared for and felt like my podcast presented THAT much more professional having Jordan in my corner! Hire her.”
